Processing and Hazards of Samarium Cobalt Magnets
Time: 2023-03-17
Production process of samarium cobalt magnets:
Ingredients → melting and ingot making → powder making → pressing → sintering and tempering → magnetic testing → grinding processing → pin cutting processing → finished product.
These alloys are usually processed in a non magnetized state. Samarium cobalt is finely ground using wet grinding (water-cooled heat dissipation) and diamond grinding wheels. This process is certain if drilling or other functions are limited. Grinding waste must not be completely dried, as samarium cobalt has a low ignition point. A small spark, if produced with static electricity, can easily burn. The temperature generated by a fire can be very high and difficult to control.

harm:
1. Samarium cobalt magnets are easy to peel off. Wear protective goggles when handling them.
2. Hitting magnets together may cause them to shatter, which may lead to potential hazards.
3. Samarium cobalt manufacturing is made by a process called sintering, which involves sintering all materials, and internal cracks are highly likely to occur. Magnets do not have mechanical integrity and only have the function of preparing magnetic fields. Therefore, it is necessary to design a special mechanical system to give the overall system sufficient mechanical reliability.
Attribute:
1. Very good coercivity.
2. Good temperature stability (operating temperature from 250 to 550 ℃, Curie temperature from 700 to 800 ℃).
3. The value is expensive and vulnerable to value fluctuations (the market value of cobalt is sharp).

The difference between neodymium iron boron magnets and ferrite magnets
Neodymium iron boron magnets are also known as "strong magnets" and "permanent magnets". If stored properly, the outer coating is not damaged, and used at regular temperatures, demagnetization will not occur, and the service life is permanent. The most widely used magnets nowadays are neodymium iron boron magnets and ferrite magnets. Let's take a look at the differences between them?
